Results from our Compak Sporting and Trap1 Club Championships held 27th October at Wairarapa Club. 150 target day well attended after the foreboding weather forecast never showed.

The long awaited Whanganui vs Wairarapa shoot off to determine the 2024 winner of the Keith O'Reiley Compak inter club teams event was also held end of day. After tying first place at the Hutt Valley Compak Zone event back in August, Sunday 27th was the day that the same teams and team members turned out for a famous head to head.

Wairarapa team of David Donald, Craig Matthews, Tim Crum, John Hillier and James Mackie stepped up first to shoot a full round of 25 each, top 4 scores counted to put 91/100 on the board.

Whanganui's Keaton Batt, Gordon Macphee, Trinity Batt, Rod Bryant and William Tannock put in a big effort, and despite a couple of protests, fell short with 81/100

Wairarapa looks forward to defending the Keith O'Reiley in 2025, and the banter has certainly laid down the challenge to Whanganui to try and do better next year.
