Held In Conjunction with Round 4 of the 2025 Falcon Sporting Clay Series
Friday 21 – Sunday 23 November 2025
Wairarapa Clay Target Club, Tauwharenikau
The final weekend of the 2025 Falcon Sporting Clay Series carries special meaning this year — as we honour the legacy of a club legend with the John Q Donald Memorial.
John Donald’s contributions to clay target shooting in this region were huge, and the Wairarapa club is very much the legacy he left to the sport.
This Memorial event recognises that contribution with a long weekend of great sport and good people.
📋 Memorial Format (Built into the Falcon Weekend)
The Memorial is not a separate shoot — instead, it uses your best scores from the weekend’s existing Falcon Series events:
English Sporting (50 targets)
Super Sporting (70 targets)
➡️ Combined Memorial Total = 120 targets
Shoot any time from 1:00pm Friday through to 2:30pm Sunday, as many times as you like. Your best score in each discipline will count.
No separate entry required — all eligible scores are automatically entered.
🏆 Memorial Awards (Presented Sunday ~3:00pm)
John Q Donald Memorial Cup – Best overall combined score
Junior Memorial Trophy – Best overall junior score
Graded Prizes – 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each grade (A, B, C + social/ungraded)
Based on NZCTA Sporting grade
Don't forget to bring your handicap book if you have one.
Shoot-offs – Any tie break shoot off's required will be held at around 2:30 - 3pm on Sunday 23rd. If you happened to post your score earlier in the weekend and can't make it back on Sunday you risk loosing out if your opponent is there to shoot. So if you keep an eye on the online scoreboard and think you're in the running, please try and make it on Sunday afternoon for shoot-offs and prize giving.
💰 These prizes for the JQ Donald Memorial are awarded in addition to the full Falcon Series prize table, with over $7,000 in prizes specifically for the Memorial up for grabs thanks to our generous sponsors:
Provincial Insurance Masterton
Fagan Motors Masterton
Kilwell Sports
