Big Changes Underway at Wairarapa Clay Target Club - A New Era Begins!

We’re halfway through the year, and it’s time for something bold. Rather than pushing on with business as usual, we’re hitting pause, because we’ve got something much better in store.

Over the coming weeks & months, Wairarapa Clay Target Club will be undergoing major upgrades across the grounds, with a strong focus on improving the shooter experience for years to come. This is the biggest infrastructure and equipment investment in our club’s recent history, and we can’t wait to show you what’s coming.

What’s Happening?

• All events are on hold until late August/early September as we fast-track Phase 1 of these improvements.

• We’re rolling out the Promatic Claymate system across the grounds after highly successful trials, giving shooters more freedom, flexibility, and fun. Wairarapa CTC will be the first ground in the country to be fully kitted out with Claymate!

• New trap installations, equipment upgrades, and building projects are kicking off immediately to improve access, reliability, and the overall experience for every shooter.

What Comes Next?

Once the dust settles, we’re bringing back the action with a brand-new Sporting series. This four-part series blends English Sporting and Super Sporting, designed to:

• Suit all levels - from first-time shooters needing introduction and guidance, to experienced competitors

• Make full use of our new Promatic Claymate setup

• Deliver a more flexible, engaging, and social shooting experience

• Feature huge sponsor support, great prizes, and a format unlike anything we’ve done before. Arguably unlike anything done before in the country!

Looking Ahead

We’ll wrap up the year with a reimagined Christmas Shoot, celebrating not just the season, but a major milestone for the club.
